I received a correspondence from a prospective business partner in Germany and needed to have it translated, so I could read it, and if agreed to it, sign it and return it in 2 business days.  This really put me in a bind and on the hunt to look for a company that offers  translation services and can turn a project around quickly.

I did my research and searched for a translation company that not only knew the language, but also understood it.  The last thing I wanted was a machine translation where the spirit of the communication becomes lost.  Certain things do not translate well verbatim and knowing the language will always help getting the message accross as opposed to a word by word translation.

I needed to know and. more importantly understand what the underlying emotion of the document is so I could respond in kind.  There is no substitute for knowing the conversational aspect of a language.  Literal translations  simply replace words in one language with the same word in another language, which, if you have ever read such a document, is often incomprehensible. Summer is right around the corner, and we are making preparations to get new furniture for our patio.  This past winter was very harsh in Southern California standards, and our existing patio furniture took a beating.

As a replacement, we are looking into getting either Adirondack chairs, Picnic Tables or even Park Benches for our patio and backyard.  I know this is not standard patio furniture, but think about it.  Park benches take a beating but are still durable for years.  These are the same qualities I want in the furniture I buy for my home.  I do not want to keep re-investing and spending mony on these types of things every two years. As a matter fact, I am going to start looking at a number of other Site Furnishings to add to the back yard space and/or patio.

I think, because we are taking a completely new and drastic approach to redoing our patio and backyard, the results are going to be really amazing.  It will definately be something that the kids will like and enjoy, and the furniture will have durability and be long lasting and weatherproof.  I really can not wait till this project is done so we could enjoy the weather and the great summer days that are coming up.

With my kids starting Jr High school soon, I am making arrangements to get a Key Logger application installed on the PC’s they use to get online and chat with their friends. I like giving my kids room to grow and allowing them to make some mistakes so they can learn from them, but in the same token I want to know who they are communicating with and what they are planning to do.  I do not consider this bad parenting, rather, informed parenting!!!

I think having this type of computer security is one of those things that is a must in todays’ digital world where connectivity and conversation can come up with anyone anywhere in the world.  How many times have we seen news stories that tell about adults pretending to be kids and getting information from kids online and using this information in a very bad way.  I want to do everything I can to make sure this does not happen to our family.  You can never be too careful.

As a matter of fact, I do not see this as being any different than adding a home security camera.  It provides peace of mind, and that is priceless.

Cancer has got to be one of the worst afflictions anyone can come down with.  However this is not necessarily a death sentence and just like anything else, the more you know about it the better you can deal with it and prepare to fight it. There has been a lot of medical advances in this field, but a lot more needs to happen.

The best thing anyone can do is obviously go down the prevention route by taking care of themselves and eating healthy and exercising.  Lung cancer is a prime example, and the best lung cancer prevention is not smoking.  This cuts down a person’s chances of not getting this dreaded cancer, but it is not a guarantee.  And, if a person is struck with this cancer, it is imparitive they understand the lung cancer stages and what changes your body and organs can expect to undertake during this time. Knowing what your body is going through is the best way to understand and know what you need to do to fight back against this disease.

Treatments are now getting better a well. and who knows, in time the world of medicine can inihilate this dreaded disease as well.

During my business trip to Australia a couple of months ago, I was very impressed by the way people conduct business.  This was my first experience with Australian business and it turned out to be both a good experience as well as a profitable one.

One thing that keeps sticking out in my mind is the clarity and precision of the business news we received on a daily basis.  The reported facts and only facts.  And, the news stories flowed very naturally in terms of how one thing led to another.  I would dare say that australian business news is truly the best in the world.  The featured sections had prominent stories with a ton of business data that was really very useful.

All in all, the news we got there really prepared us for the days’ events and gave us some really needed insight in how things are conducted in that part of the world.  We were happy to find this news source and while we were there, we read it every chance we had.  The local business news allowed us to learn about some of the prominent businesses as well as understand the company culture and more importantly, it enabled us to figure out what was important to them when it comes to doing business.

The lease on my car is almost up and I have started looking into which car will replace it.  I do not do much driving so I am not looking for anything fancy. Rather, a simple reliable car that will be efficient on gas and not give me any mechanical problems.

I have heard some great things about subaru, and any subaru owner I have spoken to, has nothing but good thing to say about this car.  I have always been a chevy guy, so looking at, or even considering any of these other cars is really something new for me.  My wife saw the Mazda Mazda6 5 Door, and thought it was the perfect car so I took a look and took the car for a test drive as well. It was very impressive and had all the comforts and technology I am looking for.  My brother, then suggested the honda.  So I took a look at that also and really liked what I saw.

Now that we have our choices narrowed down, we are looking for the best financing deals from the available dealers.  I really think whichever dealer gives us the better financing deal will be able to claim us as their new customers.
