Armenian Boxer

Artyom “Lion Heart” Hovhannisyan is one of a number of young Armenian fighters that’s set to Make a name for himself in the fight Game. Hovhannisyan, who at the age of 25 has quite the boxing resume capturing numerous amateur titles in Europe and with over 250 bouts under his belt he’s set to invade a very stacked 135lbs division in the pro ranks. Art’s Journey is quite a story as in only 6 pro fights with three of those fights being fought in france. He has made a name for himself as a two fisted bulldozer, running over his opponents, his most impressive win came in august of 2007 when he one punch KO’d a very tough Jose Luis Soto Karrass 20-11-1 (18KO’s) in just :25 in to round One.

Hovhannisyan only 25 is trained by fellow Hyefighter Edmond Tarverdyan at Tarverdyan’s gym in Glendale, CA, aside from being a Full time Gym owner and trainer Tarverdyan is also the current WBC international Muaythai champion. For Hovhannisyan there is on thing on his mind and that’s a World titles at the 135lbs division, and with his New Team behind him there is no stopping him. Hovhannisyan Starts of the new year with a six round bout on February 15th, at The Quiet Cannon in Montabelloe. Tarverdyan said Art is Ready to go he has no problems making weight, his great in the gym comes in does his work helps out at the gym and his gone, 3 times a week Hovhannisyan does sparring at Freddie Roach’s famous Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, His first day of sparring Hovhannisyan turned some heads as he went Toe2Toe with Future world champion “Vicious” Victor Ortiz, Fransisco “Punchito” Bojado and world title Challenged Czar Amonsot, Hovahannisyan now 5-0-1 (2KO) has his sites set on a World title within the next two years.

Darchinyan Gets Robbed in Gorres HomeTown

In a fight to determine the #1 contender for the IBF flyweight champion dimitri Kirolev, Vic Darchinyan Was robbed by a hometown decision, After Knocking Z Gorres down twice and chasing him around the ring for the final 3 rounds of a 12 round fight, The judges scored the fight a split draw, the judges from Thailand had it 116-113 Gorres, Australian Judges had it 113-112 Darchinyan and the Philippines judge scored it 114-114 a Draw. To Gorres’s credit he hurt Darchinyan in the second round with a counter right hook that knocked Vic down and also Fought with Blood running down his face that was caused by clash of heads in the sixth round. (Gorres was hurt multiple times during the bout and even knocked down 3 times but the ref called it a push or slip) ** the commentator for the event was none other then crybaby Glen Donaire, who was Beat like a drum by Darchinyan before quiting halfway during there fight on October 10, 2006. during the fight the only thing Glen had on his mind,  was to talk negatively about Vic at any chance he got.

** Word of advice to Glen Donaire, First Learn how to fight like a man, 2nd don’t quit ur day job because you stink at being a commentator.
